Thank you. :-) I really wanted to write a scene between the two of them and hope to include another in the next installment.

I couldn't resist adding a pony, after the several equine references in the show!

This story keeps getting better! I'm very much enjoying the "conflicted" Beckett. We don't see much of her like this in the series (at least not yet!), but I picture her being very torn over her feelings for Castle. On one hand she's attracted to him and because she's been reading his novels for years has a fan girl crush on him; on the other hand he makes her crazy with his juvenile jokes and constant wise cracks.

Interesting choice of tenses for this story - most of the time when I see something written in the present tense I move right along because it's not easy to pull off, but you're doing beautifully!

Keep up the great work!

Thanks, Anthro! I love that inner tension in Beckett's character and am hoping to resolve it in a believable way in this series.

I normally hate the present tense, because most of us tell our stories in the past tense. Not to mention the suspension of disbelief required to believe that someone could be telling us a story as it happens. But this story seemed to call for it-so much so that my recent oneshots took a conscious effort to write in past.

This is a wonderful story. There is happy, sad, and lots of other emotions spilling out every where. But it is still very much in character.
