Allegedly the fear of clowns is actually the fear of perversion. But I also feel it's lame. They're clowns. Strange, maybe, but not scary.

What I want to know is why clown phobia has eclipsed fear of (in ascending order of terrifyingness) ventriloquists' dummies, jack-in-the-boxes and Punch and Judy shows. All of these are much worse than clowns. I think I really started to get clown overkill when they had that zombie clown in Zombieland fighting the oh-so-quirky dweeb hero. That was very tiresome.
