New Business Card

My old business card kinda stunk: it was plain black text on white, didn't mention game design, and, uh, featured an inactive e-mail address. I definitely needed a new card for GDC and Interactivity@GT.

I wanted something memorable that would get people to check out my site, and here's what I came up with!

I would state it is very awesome for saying, "Here, take my card."

Not as cool for, "This is my business card; give me a call if you need some work done."

Verdict, awesome for the style, dunno if the industry is ready for you yet :P

Thanks for the advice (and you too, Sam!) - that's definitely a good point. I wonder if people in creative industries ever do two cards - one straight and one crazy?

If I were doing web development or non-games programming, I don't think I'd be so bold. The crazy one should work for my current networking purposes, and I won't order so many as to be stuck with them forever if I decide to go more business-like.

Nice. Agree with the above, though: you might want to come up with a separate card for the stodgy types.

I was just wondering the same thing!

"Hmm... does this guy in the suit and the spiky hair seem like a *right pants pocket card* kinda guy, or a *left pants pocket guy*? Oh no- I pulled out the wrong one!"

Well, I imagine you could just say "Oops" and pull out the right one, as long as you look at the card first before you hand it over!

I don't know much about the world of business cards, but it doesn't seem unreasonable, particularly in a fun/serious business like game design, that people would carry more than one style of card. Of course, if you went all crazy and made too many different styles, that might just get out of hand ("Oh no! It's Tuesday and I gave him the Friday card!").

You could always go, "Oops, that was this other guys business card. Heh heh." And then grab the other business card and be all sneaky.
