[Somewhere around House 55 (which is mysteriously unapproachable by most people due to a bit of help from Helios) is a humanoid rat working on his garden. It isn't too big, it isn't too small, but it's just the right size

[A green thumb, Donatello does not have. At least in the metaphorical sense. He's just here to spend time with his father, enjoy the weather, and provide heavy lifting services, while Splinter engages in the delicate work of encouraging plants to grow.]
[Splinter has always wanted a garden, and now he has one. It had taken a few missteps to truly get it started, but now Splinter was happy with its progress. (Reading about gardening at the library had been so incredibly useful!)
He chuckles at his son, pausing in his humming.]
Nor can I. Time only seems to pass all the quicker the older you and your brothers grow.
[Luceti has gardens of all different types it seems. Whilst on a leisurely stroll, Yuuka just so happens across another garden. She didn't expect to see anything redeeming down this dead-end of a pathway, but it seems she had be proven wrong...
...And is that a giant rat gardening?
Well that's definitely interesting. She won't be saying anything, just looking over the garden carefully.]
[It is indeed a giant rat gardening, and he is immediately aware of him being watched. Since the girl does not seem to be adversely reacting to him, Splinter goes on about his business and continues to hum. He does not want to disturb her unless she is ready to interact with such a strange creature as himself.]
[Oh she is ready alright. She'll turn and take a step towards the garden, if only to get a better look.]
Did you correctly prepare the soil before planting these vegetables~? I am concerned for your carrots particularly in regards to the variety of soil they were planted in.
[Not that she doubts he can't garden properly, but she does.]
[Ah, she's a friendly one. Splinter stops what he's doing and smiles to her before she begins to speak. At her question, he pauses in thought and glances to the carrots.]
[It's strange having only one brother here with him. Is this how it felt for Don and Raph, when it was just them? Leo's thankful their father is still here, too. Like Don, Leo's been in and out helping Splinter with his garden. Especially with the heavy lifting. This time though he's bringing out drinks, since it's so hot out.]
Master Splinter? I thought you could use something to drink.
[He's brought iced tea. It's too hot for hot tea. He'll offer one of the glasses to Splinter when he gets close enough, before he looks over the garden.]
[The latest - and strangest, right now - resident of House 55 may also be visible to Splinter. Gardening is something that Robert seems to have gotten himself a reputation for doing now, between the Memory Garden and his own personal hydroponics plot for Vivi... so he has no qualms with assisting Splinter with his own.
He's tending diligently to the tomato plot, carefully checking the soil even though he already checked it less than half an hour ago and the concentration of soil microbiota is abnormally low anyway.]
At this rate, I will become something of a botanist.
[Strange only because he is more "normal" compared to the rest of them.
Over time, Splinter has grown more used to the idea of Robert being "with" his son. He's not so apprehensive about him, and is more often friendly with him than not. If anything, Splinter knows how to adapt.
He smiles a bit when he sees Robert testing the soil again.]
Perhaps. ... The soil counts have not changed in such a small span of time, Robert.
[Strange is in the eyes of the beholder - though of course, Robert sees the Hamatos as significantly more "normal" than he is, in quite a few ways.
Likewise, Robert is less apprehensive about Splinter - over the time spent in Luceti, things have faded from a tense stand-off to something closer to the warm, approaching-familial relationship that a son-in-law might have... perhaps because Robert is the closest thing to a son-in-law that Splinter has had to deal with.
He smiles in return - sheepishly, this time. Splinter is observant...] Ah, well. I... I suppose I was just... wondering.
... This area is strange though, but I am not surprised - it is so very artificial...
[The bond isn't quite there yet, but it has definitely gone past tolerance on Splinter's behalf. He is still unsure of how to take all these changes in, but he is getting there.]
Ah, but nature has its way of making artificial things less artificial. It will simply take time.
[ Walking by was a wandering green clad woman. Ever since that talk with her brother, things have been . . . not tense but awkward. Martel thought perhaps she could remedy this problem by taking a quiet stroll to clear her thoughts. When she passes by House 55, she freezes before backpedaling to the front of the building. Not far from her was a humanoid rat working on garden.
Despite living in Luceti for some time now, she still remains surprised by the kinds of residents the town harbors. She fidgets there for a moment. Part of her wants to go up to him and compliments on his garden but the polite side of her doesn't want to intrude on his home uninvited. Oh, what a conundrum. ]
[Splinter senses that he is being watched once more and glances to the woman. He can't help but notice that she is unsure of what to do, but not quite because of his looks.
He solves her conundrum by smiling at her and waving.]
[It was most certainly an invitation. He's still getting used to the fact that humans don't run away from him and his sons screaming, but he's quite happy about it. Splinter is growing less apprehensive about meeting new people.]

If you could make us younger again... would you?

... Perhaps it would be nice to have you small once again when our situation is not so dire as our earlier days.
