You guys are confusing me by having political talk in my anime podcast section. I could've easily believed I was still listening to Bill Moyers Journal where he was having a conversation with Noah about how modern day Japanese animation is relevant to current events and helping younger people understand them.
While I was listening I was wondering whether this podcast was alienating the typically young anime watcher (who could name all the villages in Naruto before naming any sects of Islam) or if it was helping them understand the nature of the conflict.
Here I was thinking the Black Lagoon podcast was something to look forward to because no one can put a bead on what anime Noah will like or hate, but this is better than what I had in mind!
Look forward to more analysis! Heck just keep on with Ghost in the Shell, as long as you get to Black Lagoon eventually I can wait ^_^ Dang, now you're making me want to watch GITS again.
I haven't commented here in a while, but I still listen to the podcast every time you put one out. This last episode was great, and I actually wish more anime podcasts would talk more about "real world" things, or how anime relates to them. You guys rock!

I thought this episode was a great analysis of the central concept of GitS:SAC as well as a cool lead-in to Black Lagoon. I like the idea of getting deeper into the ideas behind entertainment rather than just a plot summary and a liked-it or hated-it review. I'm downloading part 2 at the moment and looking forward to it.

Wow, I'm so happy the reaction to these shows has been so positive. I absolutely agonized posting them for months and months (particularly the first episode). I managed to put it off for a year before Erin got so tired of nagging me about it she just put them up. I'm glad everyone enjoyed them!

I am in awe of this show. Having listened to the second black lagoon episode, I will continue to be a dedicated listener so long as I'm a fan of anime.
I have yet to find anything, outside of the book "from princess mononoke to spirited away" that deals, in such a rigorous intellectual manner with the medium that is anime.
