It still amazes me when I read an article that mentions last year's Avengers movie and how it made over $1.5 billion in the United States box office. That's a ridiculous amount, much less the fact that it made $200 million opening weekend

Actually, The Avengers only did $623.3 million in the U.S. The $1.5 billion figure is the combined domestic and international box-office.
