In the spirit of New Year's Eve, I read over last year's posts to see what there was to see. In summary:
- I got fired up about writing non-fanfiction fiction (and then really didn't write much)
- My company reorganized and I got shafted (we've learned that "this is just the way things are now", which was freeing if also sucky)
- I found the LJ fandoms for BSG and Castle. I only lurk in the Castle one, but *waves furiously at f-list*
- I wrote fanfiction. Certainly not a lot by my f-list's standards, but a good amount considering the full time work and parenting of a Kindergartener that was concurrent. I put all my old fanfic and the new stuff up at my Dreamwidth account. One Castle to fix the last season finale and 5 BSG ones. That doesn't include comment!fic, the bsg_pornbattle (2 pieces), and the notebook of abandoned beginnings. I never did finish that holiday one for saholidayflash , either. *sigh*
- I started making icons and doing weekly icon comms. iconic_lee and karastillness are a lot of pretty, pretty fun and my image editing skills are improving, which is nice.
- Meg started Kindergarten. Yikes.
- Oh, and before that, we sold our starter house and moved to Superhouse. It is even better than I'd hoped and the remodelled kitchen makes me want to get creative with meals, which has been a lot of fun. I always used to love cooking and now I'm back to making things up, to rave reviews (fine, maybe my husband and 5 year old don't count as reviewers, but man, can they be critical!).
- I ultimately decided I need to completely restructure the novel I'm writing, but I don't have it in me yet. Someday, I will complete that damn thing and see what comes of it, but right now, it isn't the book that's in my head.
- I got a snazzy blue HP mini netbook for Christmas (I was VERY good this year), so maybe I'll write more. I want to.
Well, that's really all I can think of. I did a couple of memes, learned how to embed playlists and use sparklefont, and generally had a grand old time making new friends.
Happy New Year!
