So, because I wanted to avoid doing any homework (...I'm such a bad student), I wanted to see what would happen if I tried to translate the D.N.Angel TV Animation Series novels.  A cursory glance had me realizing that the books were not split into chapters, but instead into sections split off by just whitespace.  Which confused me at first, but I ( Read more... )

I translate things slowly too. x_x Then again, procrastination probably factors into it as well, considering that I barely have the first page of Ningyo no Namida typed up in MS Word. Ah, that reminds me though. About the novels, would it work to split typing them out half-and-half? Like, either we can each do half of each book, or I can do the first and half of the second and you could do the last half of the second and the third? As for the actual translation...eh, that can come later. XD

Back on topic though, I think your translation sounds okay. I have to say, reading it has a more dramatic feel than I remember getting from the beginning of the anime.

Hmm, I was just thinking of that. Do we still wanna split typing them out? If that's the case, then would we each translate a chapter or something? Or do we wanna skip the typing...IDK at this point. But either way, working on one book at a time would be better, I think.

Also, yeah, WAY more dramatic. I wish I had more time to do more...

Chapters would be fine. Whatever is convenient for you, I guess. ^_^ And yeah, one book at a time. XD

If we're both confident enough in our translating skills, we could just assign chapters and translate that way. Though I wonder if that would screw us up on translating if we don't read the whole thing as we translate, IDK. But it would get us through the whole book much quicker if we split it up that way.
