Today was the dedication of the WWII memorial in the Washington Mall. I watched it on TV this afternoon, it's nice to see the thing has finally been built the thing. Those guys needed a memorial, especially while some of the veterans are still living.

my grampa was a war hero. he was at tarawa and midway, and Rabaul. told us only a few years ago. before that he denied ever being in the war at all.

kinda sad to know that if our generation had been there instead of our grandpa's, the human race would have been over by now
