Thoughts on Jesus

what's so bad about being silly?
i say you're silly.

and please. don't generalize us Christians without actually knowing anything.
i know the stereotypes and where they come from. but i think its stupid to formulate judgements with what you see in tv and in your own little world.
earth is really big with lots of different kinds of people. dont compare me to those "Christians" who hate and do things contrary to what the Bible actually teaches.
thank you.

Thoughts on Jesus

* I don't see Jesus as my lord and savior. That last bit maybe but definitely not the first. This was a guy that balked at any special treatment that people tried to show him. He was a teacher...not royalty.
this is ur opinion only. Jesus was humble to serve as an example for others. royalty suggest money and wealth but Jesus' wealth is not material. (though He is a king. :])

* When Jesus walked on the water, do you suppose his feet got wet? Were there ripples caused by each step?
who knows? maybe. though i dont think its that important. but interesting question. i'll ask Him when i see Him.

* Jesus lived a fair stretch of time and was executed. Then he rose from the dead, spooked a few people, and disappeared. What exactly happened to him after that? Did he go onto Heaven or is he wandering the world to this day as a well preserved zombie?
He went to ( ... )

* It'd be a shame if he died a virgin. I mean, with all the guy had to put up with in life it'd've been nice to know he got a little on the side.
Jesus died a virgin. sex (yes i said it. grow up) was something granted by God to human beings as a means to reproduce. it would suck if it was painful, then we would be extinct. Jesus didnt seek a human existence on earth but His purpose was to come and lead people to salvation and save us. He never did anything unnecessary and sex was something insignificant to His goal. His joy came form knowing He could save all the people who loved for so deeply.

* Jesus was of the Hebrew faith and born Jewish. I've never quite gotten why those that follow his teachings aren't still Jewish...or at the very least Hebrew.
yes, Jesus is Jewish. He follows God only, but we also follow Christ (Jesus). thus CHRISTians. wouldnt it be strange if He worshiped himself? Jesus praised and worshiped only God the Father. Christianity does not in any way contradict the Jewish faith but rather fullfills ( ... )

* I remember this little bit, I saw in a movie, how Jesus first came as a lamb but he shall return as a lion. This tends to give me a hybridized mental vision of him and Rambo.
its called a metaphor. look it up.

* As messed up as the world is today, if Jesus actually did come back it wouldn't be long before he was put away into some federal lockup.
Jesus isnt stupid. dont worry about it. i'm sure He'll be able to avoid such obstacles.

* I'd like to think he'd be just as disgusted with the production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" as I was.
i'd like to think Jesus is disgusted with a lot of things, as i am
* I hate the crucification....and I don't mean the event itself. Going into a church and seeing a representation of him hanging there bloodied and broken, in obvious agony; its barbaric! I get the whole died for our sins bit but that doesn't mean we should have to see it anytime we goto worship. I'd much rather see him represented doing what he did in life rather than the slow and painful way he was brought down.

* Similar to the last one, Jesus came up in the Hebrew faith but was largely rejected by its religious leaders. I'd be very much surprised if the same thing didn't happen again should he return and interact with the leaders of the Christian faith.
what can i say, people are blind, even Christians. we arent perfect. but those who truly see and believe will see and others i'm sure will eventually realize the truth if they really seek it.

* There are many who believe Jesus will return someday but how is he supposed to be recognized? It's not like there's a wholly accurate description of the guy or listing of identifying marks; can't exactly check his dental records. For all anyone knows he may've already come and gone.
Jesus' return doesnt necessarily mean a phyisical return. there's an actual field of study that focuses on Revelations and the end of world with Jesus' return. i forgot what it was called, but if ur interested, you should look it up. sorry i cant be of more help here ( ... )

1. I dont think Jesus is coming in a wordly "human" form, thus he is easily seen and known by all, and he cannot be put in a federal lock up...Second, if you read your BIBLE then you will see the signs of when Jesus is supposed to come, and how. I dont think it is even possible for Jesus to be a zombie, and as far as eatin out brains..man that would contridict his teaching ( ... )

I think the description of Heaven is interpretive or bogus. How do we take a description of a place the writer never saw? Although, I wasn't referring to on High. Just that many that serve the church these days, and through history, seem to be as concerned with promoting thier own wealth as providing for the needy. Sometimes it's not even that even.

Just because the Bible doesn't agree with something doesn't automatically make it false. Plus, not all the information on reincarnation says you don't recall the previous existance...many agree that total recall isn't that uinlikely. Though, a person remembering they were a snail once probably doesn't do them that well.

The second coming may be described plain and simple but I rather doubt it will go along as a play by play. The 1st coming was also described plain and simple and when Jesus showed up the heads of the faith that were expecting him didn't recognize him for who he was. Plain and simple doesn't always work out as intended ( ... )
