Kit's favorite character is Sparhawk - I told him this and he said, "OH NO!" :O

The loss of a legend, indeed.

Oh no! I loved these books; I'm planning to hand them down to my nieces.

Interesting that the article does not mention The Belgariad series and the second series, the name of which I cannot remember. I found those first.

I was also a big Eddings fan. I liked the worlds that he created...

David Eddings Malloreon was one of my first series that I actually picked out for myself at the library.

I was sad to hear that he'd passed on.

One book, I think that probably not as many people have read/heard of was his dark urban fantasy The Losers.

I am greatly saddened by this. I discovered David's books at a time in my life, when I was lost in a huge city for the first time in my life and very much alone in the world.

The Belgardiad/Mallorean series were his best...but I have read and enjoyed the Elenium/Tamuli just as often in over the years.

I introduced my ex-wife to them and so far two of my kids have fallen in love with them.

I will miss knowing that Mr. Eddings is out there somewhere, maybe writing a new book.

R.I.P.
