This is seven different kinds of awesome; the idea of Shunsui and Ukitake as western vigilantes really fits, as well as it being very hot. Their roles, Shunsui as a salon owner and Ukitake coming from a farming family, seem to really tie to their characters. The relationship between the two in both the past and present is very well described. Ichigo kept cracking me up during the story, and the reflection of both men on comparing Ichigo to themselves and latter his relationship with Renji, gives us the feel of the lives that they have lived. I can’t wait for you to continue this story.
You've just made us so incredibly happy I just want to hug you :DD
Thank you very, very much for this comment. IT was really important to us that they and their relationship would fit in this AU well, so it's really good to know it worked. *hugs anyway*
Hugs are great. ^_^ You both should be happy with your story.
I've gotten into Bleach recently, and I've been to much of a lurker to comment, but I just want to say I really like your stories, especially Well-secluded, part two was very nice. Anyways, I look forward to your future writing.
Very interesting concept. And I'm very (very!) relived to see it's only the end of book one. And I can't wait to see what you do with the other bleach characters. Is it wrong of me to hope that Ishida will show up as half Native American?
This was spectacular! I read the entire thing over the course of two days, and can't wait for the next book to be posted. Wonderful characterization, and I can't wait to see just what happened between Ukitake and Shunsui all those years ago that broke them apart. Plus there's the whole Renji and Ichigo thing too. *g* Great job guys!
Oh, hell, ladies...I'd wanted to read each chapter in detail and let you know how much I liked this story, but of course the lack of time in my life intervened. XO
So, let me say just how much I both liked and was kept wanting for more by your story structure. I liked how you kept me scrolling down the page by letting out little bits of the past intertwined with the present. It kept me wondering what happened then, and I liked how you worked it in with what was happening in the present.
The two of you write really well together, too. I thought I could pick out Spiky's voice in a few places, but really that's only because I've read so much of her work and we've written together, too. You managed to get me interested in these two, as well...I like how you portrayed them, how each of them seems to be a well of secrets with an amazing depth of past experiences. If the two of you decide to write more of this, you can definitely count me in.
... and after the panicky moment of being late, I realize there's nothing I can say other than thank you. So thank you! We're very glad to hear we've kept the story interesting, and that the characters were deep (I think you know why I'm not used to that remark :P). ♥
