I just feel the need to rant a bit.
So my mom overheard Brittanee telling me that her best friend, Jenny, says no on Prop 8 also. For those of you that don't know, Prop 8 bans gay marriage. So saying no means you are FOR gay marriage. She thens goes off on a tangent about it and brings up the bible.
Okay, for one thing, I WAS NOT brought up with knowledge of the bible whatsoever. Never went to church and my mom never preached to me. So when I first started seeing gay/lesbian things on TV...I thought being gay was completely acceptable in society. One day I brought this up and my mom pretty much had a panic attack and was like, "NO BEING GAY IS NOT OKAY." This was seriously news to me. Honestly, how does she expect someone with pretty much no knowledge of the bible to know what it says in there? <<;
Today's argument got so bad she told me this: "You aren't allowed to have opinions and you're going to burn in hell."
This, pissed me off to no end. After telling her what I stated above, for some reason she said, "Well, that just means you're a lesbian."
....................okay, whatever. .-. I didn't even counter and tell her I'm not. I just started screaming I'M GAY over and over again until she got extremely quiet. Now she won't even talk to me.
But honestly, what she said has really gotten to me and now I feel...terrible. ._. How could someone tell their own daughter they're going to burn in hell? *sigh* My mom is...incredible.
