how i got into liking these chaotic ojisans (bonus with jfilms)

now this is a pretty long one, so...

when i was little, my mum had this file for learning japanese (but it was in romaji) and i remember using it because it seems very interesting.

i got some scans and it showed that i did write on them (badly).

here's a comparison of my mom's writing and chibi ai-chan ;

chibi ai-chan's handwriting

i even wrote my name xD

how i got into japanese movies + dramas ;

okay, so huge time skip, it was 2018 and i was bored on netflix so i tried watching switched, the male lead was cute so after some searching i found out the guy is shigeoka daiki from johnny's west, and it turns out he's a jpop idol (?)

so another thing, i have nothing against idols, it's just that i have no enthusiasm towards dancing, so i generally don't like kpop or jpop or whatever.

but i ended up watching other movies that shigeoka daiki starred in, and from there i'm into japanese movies. i was pretty careful not to fall into jdramas at the time because of school, so i don't wanna end up wasting too much of my time (because i knew in general how long kdramas can be, so i thought it was the same for japanese ones)

and it was only last year's lockdown that i tried watching the phenomenal koi tsudu and loving it, and started piling so many dramas to watch but can never have the time to do so.

also at this time (2020 lockdown) i knew arashi only by the name, but was not interested to know who they are, with the prejudice of "i know they're famous, but why are they so popular??" lol

so this year's lockdown, i knew takumi kitamura as that sad boy in movies, and i knew he's in a band but didn't care much to hear him sing. but then i watched his first take of neko on youtube, and i fell in love with the song. my fave thing is definitely the lyrics because it seems to suit some kind of a sad romantic japanese film, perfect to be an OST.

so i searched up dish// and the rock sounds are to my liking, and was hoping to find more contents of them on youtube (note that at this time i still have no idea what LJ is) and i was so sad to see there's not much :<

i remember feeling so sad that they (dish//) don't have much eng subs content, and i feel desperate to watch more, anything could suffice right now.

and then i remembered that huge band arashi, they're famous right? they must have  more contents.

they were so funny on these variety show clips XD and after watching (sooooo) many of them, i tried listening to their music. my first one was truth, and it was the only one that i felt good (yes, the mcr loving ai-chan, picking the one with some emo looking MVs). i tried listening some others and they're not that bad, but at the time i still need to adapt to their dancing ^^'

and after getting to know them a lot more, here i am. now a trash. a sad one, because i only knew them when they've gone hiatus.
