Thought I would dust off this old account here to share a few recommendations from the recent holibags, since a few people have asked about it. We did the Wild Taiga self-drive tour of Eastern Finland.
What we liked about Finland:

Sugar is evil
A curio of conversation arose the other day when someone I know had an enquiry of what sugar is made from.
Seems easy enough, but the answer may have an unexpected side effect...

Had a bit of a film spree this weekend.
Monsters was an unusual film which bills itself as a low budget CGI. Didn't know anything about it, so I was expecting the whole alien warfare movie. Technophobic dalliances
Some days you think people are trying to tell you something. Maybe even some months. Take for instance this little article I have been sent, with the statement "There is hope."
I already own an Aquabox for my iTouch, my mobile is a JCB tough phone and even my mum chipped in trying to ninox proof the tech with a neoprene lunch bag to make sure I keep ( Read more... ) -

Return from Mordor
This weekends outing was to the wedding of Sarah & Jules.
The first idea had been a beach wedding. But Jules didn't thinks his friends could make it, so the beach wedding took place in AberdyfiOK someone talked some sense into her and they had it in the English church there. Knowing the bishop
Something I have been meaning to post about for a while is port. Some of you may be aware I am rather fond of the stuff, probably more of a connoisseur that a_pawson, but I can still happily quaff on a Friday night with opusfluke.

The Indiana bug
Petra is what everyone goes to Jordan to see. A favourite location for filming because of it's absolutely stunning unique scenery. Where was I?
Continuing the tale we went to St George's Church in Madaba. It contains the oldest known map of Chrsitiandom approx 6 AD. The map however is incomplete as it is a mosaic on an orthodox Church, but the result is still spectacular. The interior was truly awesome, surprisingly I didn't find the map a highlight, which is rather unlike me.
