We still make music here...

But apparently I hardly listen to it anymore. Because I am old, so it all sucks.

In fact it's been over a month since I've listened to anything made in America. Not counting when the Hubby has the radio on, of course. Looking through my listening history last week was an interesting experience. Didn't know I had such a thing for trip hop/downtempo ( Read more... )

I've been listening to a lot of Lady Gaga. Ffff. It's good workout music, is all. ._.;;

But aside from that, ehhh. Recently started listening to Skambankt; I needed something kind of loud and heavy. (Love this song by them; it's my fave)

Also some Finnish stuff - eeeeh a few bands friends rec'd to me, but mostly Leevi and the Leavings, which is starting to become one of my favourite bands ever (and Tuhlaajapoika one of my favourite songs ever).

Oh, and I've fallen in love with Hedningarna. It's just. Oh my gods, alskdjf. Especially this song... or anything from the Trä album really.

aaand going back to English music again, I've been listening to Stan Rogers - one of Canada's better folk musicians - especially stuff from the Fogarty's Cove album. One of my relatives listened to his stuff all the time but I could never remember the name, only re-discovered it now. It makes me so nostalgic for the east coast, especially stuff like this song. *_*

Haha, my sister really likes Lady Gaga. I...don't really see what the big deal is. XD

Of those, I really liked the Skambankt song. I've been searching for a band that sings in Norwegian that I can really get into to help me learn the language. So far, no luck. I'll give these guys a shot, though.

And Hedningarna...it won't let me see the video you linked to in my country. :( But I looked them up and found one from the album you mentioned. At first I was thinking "Oh, this is nice" then the beat kicked in and I was like "This. Is. Fucking. Awesome!" Thanks, man! This will be playing in Grooveshark all night, I think.
