Multiple Wii Workouts

I am the proud new owner of a Wii system (clearly an early adopter here). Anyway, I also now own two workout games:

My Fitness Coach
Your ShapeMy Fitness Coach allows you to focus on cardio (which is where I really need to start) but Your Shape, which comes with a camera and follows your movements actually helps you know if you are using correct ( Read more... )

I use WiiFit Plus and EA Active, which incorporates the WiiFit board into some exercises. I also have My Fitness Coach (and the previous PS2 version, YourSelf Fitness).

Honestly, I use a combo of them. My fav, though, is the WiiFit Plus, because, like EA Active, I can make my own workouts. I couldn't do that with My Fitness Coach.

The best game, I would suggest, though, currently is besides Wii Play is Wii Sports Resorts. The dueling is a really great work-out, too :) And its just a lot of fun :)

Can I ask how you combine them? That's the part I'm struggling with, since there is a lot of overlap.

I'm okay with not making my own workouts at this point, but I can see how that would be beneficial, I'll keep that in mind. : )

Thank you.

I just rotate which ones I work with each day/week, depending on my mood. I might be in the mood for a jog and a some ab work-outs, so I'll do WiiFit, which would be doing a jog around the Resort and Hula Hoops.
Or if I'm in the mood to sweat until I drop (well, maybe not so much), I'll use EA Active.

EA Active has a 30-day challenge which I like, so it's 2 days on, and 1 day off, so you can either take a break that day, or rotate in another game. That's what I missed the most with My Fitness Coach.

I love My Fitness Coach! Maya's a great trainer. I also have Wii Fit and the Biggest Loser Wii, both of which are pretty good. I have EA Sports Active on my list to buy.

As for game recs, you can't go wrong with Mario Kart.

Does My Fitness Coach let you use the balance board? What about Biggest Loser?

My Fitness Coach doesn't use the balance board, but the Biggest Loser you can use it if you want to, but you don't have to.

I am also a new Wii owner as of the 1st. I only have Wii Sports and Mario Party 8 so far but I want to get some sort of a good work out with my Wii.

Yeseterday I was doing the boxing warm ups in Wii Sports and I was really getting a good work out! I guess you could turn any of the physical play wii games into a work out if you really give it your all. Rather than just flicking my wrist in tennis , I actually really wack the ball. It's pretty fun.

These two are both good for a workout! I'm just trying to figure out how to use both in tandem. Comes with time I suppose.

That's a good point regarding the physical play games...it's just a matter of knowing which ones are the most physical.
