The first one is actually the first game I ever beat on Wii. It was a blast.

it's great fun and all but what i don't like about it is the fact that there're no save points in the level until you actually complete it. so, for me, that means i have to block out an hour or more if ever i want to play it otherwise all my efforts short of completing the level won't be preserved. and it's usually the case that i don't have that much time to spend on the wii.

That was my problem, too, but I eventually said 'screw it! I'm beating you!' And I did. I hope they improved that in the new game. I also hate that if I go back and redo a level, I have to start from scratch with painting posters and trees and stuff. Not fair.

Me neither, but Spring 2011 better come with some save points mid-level and the ability to go back to half-finished levels and complete them clock free or something.

I'm all for making it easier to play... plenty of time to implement those, I'd hope!

If you right click on the photo and say view image, I think it gets a little bigger :)

I actually tested this at E3, spoke briefly with one of the devs. It didn't occur to me to ask about mid-level saves because I was sooooo happy it got rid of the one thing that left a bad taste in my mouth: waggle jump (which is likely changed because it will be on all consoles).

Overall, it was quite as bit as lovely as I remembered the first being, with some added bonuses.
