Guitar Hero 5 out of tune, help?

Hey everyone. I tried Googling this, but I'm not sure exactly what to do with the info I've found, so I thought I'd ask you lovely folks ( Read more... )

Certain tvs have a synching issue. HD tvs in particular tend to have this problem. There should be an option within the menu by which you can synch it up.

Don't worry about messing with the hardware and look for an option within the software of the game itself. Have a look around the menus and you should find the option. (I haven't got Guitar Hero 5 but the option was available in Guitar Hero 3 and Guitar Hero World Tour.)

I know there's something up with the whammy bar

I'm not so sure about this issue (I think it's separate). I only have the Guitar Hero III guitar, but Guitar Hero World Tour has a new option for a different guitar. You say that you got the guitar separately but in an Amazon bundle, so you could have a similar issue. It could be that the game is making up for the lack of an extra function on your guitar and is just giving you the power-up automatically.

But the whammy bar has always been pretty "loose" - it tends not to stay up where I want it so I can reach while playing.

Now that might be a hard ware issue. ( ... )

See, all I can find is a calibration for audio and visual lag, which is not my problem. I cannot find any sort of menu for a calibration for the whammy bar itself. What is the option called in the versions of the game you have? Maybe I'm just missing something obvious.

Also, I didn't get the guitar separate from the game. What I meant when I said I got the bundle from Amazon is that it was the Guitar Hero 5 game and guitar bundle, so it's the guitar that comes with the game. Sorry if that was confusing.

I'm thinking the whammy bar is faulty, though. I mean, I can play still, but it's just not fun when the song sounds awful because the notes are out of tune.

I thought you said that was you problem?

Based on what you've now said then, yeah, I think it's probably a faulty guitar. (And once again I'm not really sure that your cat could be to blame.)

i have guitar hero for ps3, not wii, so this might not be related, but when i first started playing i tried holding the wammy down all the time so i could strum while holding it and not have to reach for it, and that made the sustained notes work the way you describe, with them instantly looking like i'd hit the whammy and they wouldn't come out as i let up on the bar. so assuming the wii guitar works the same way, it seems like yours is thinking the whammy is always down, which could be because it is too loose.

Sounds like the whammy bar to me rather than the syncing. Might be easy to fix yourself. I did it on my Rock Band guitar quite easily with a screwdriver and a rubber band. Looks like the insides of the GH guitars might be a little different though. Still looks simple enough to at least check out: http://5frets.com/19/guitar-hero-broken-whammy-bar-fix/

Yeah, I actually found a similar link, I'm just a little wary about having to take apart the guitar already, since I just bought the thing....

Thanks, though, I might have to resort to that if I can't do an exchange with Amazon.

Sounds to me like the mechanism of the whammy bar has broken. I've done a fix on on old GH2 guitar which was pretty simple, but did involve opening up the guitar and putting in some rubber bands to get the whammy bar working again. I can understand being wary about taking the guitar apart, but I think that's what may need to be done.

The aims of acne treatment are to prevent new spots forming, to improve on acne treatment already present, and to prevent scarrings.
