New rewards (ish)

Dec 29, 2010 22:47

I don't know how often people frequent the Club Nintendo Rewards page, but I just burned through 750 points.

I got two of the canvas bags as Christmas gifts for others, but when I wanted more, they were all sold out. They are now back in stock. I bought 3, using up the majority of my points, but I will always get a respectful nod from the cashier ( Read more... )

Those totes are amazing. I got one for myself and it's so big and colorful! Not bad for something that was essentially free. I also snagged one of those Mario pin things, and it's quite nice.

I'm happy with the stuff they've been adding lately!

My friend who received one from me was amazed at how good the stitching on it was. I just like that they're free (in and of themselves) and functional. I mean, I can't think of a more fun way to carry around a bottle of vodka and some chips.

They're really stepped up their game, and I'm glad since I had 1350 points just sitting there accumulating since 2009.

I could see you with that messenger bag, lookin' all fly as you walk into work, hip-popping for maximum bag exposure.

You think I need to hip-pop to be exposed? :P

I do! I'm not trying to be a lurker, just nothing worth writing about in the personal journal. I think you'd make a good fighter, though. Quick, like viper.

Thanks for the heads up. I knew I'd been saving up those coins for some reason, heh.

Oh yeah? How many points did you have, what are you getting?

I'm just glad it's not all playing cards and DSi holders.

I had something like 750, and I ended up ordering a few canvas bags because I think they'll make great gifts for some friends. I actually have more games to register/surveys to complete, but I've been waiting to make sure I have enough to at least get gold status in a calendar year, otherwise what's the point, right? And that reminds me, I should see how many games I have now that are eligible....

But yeah, I agree. I was not interested in the cards or anything DSi-related, so it's really nice to see some new stuff that seems worth getting.

I had over 1500 coins and still hadn't gotten anything because nothing there seems very appealing and if it is it's overpriced. I finally broke down and just got one of the Kirby patch packs because if I don't start spending my coins soon Nintendo is going to take away my older coins so they're kind of FORCING me to get stuff now. Maybe I'll get one of the bags too.

That bags are totally worth the 250 they ask! My friend was amazed by the stitching and said it was a great bag, very durable. I plan on using mine for shipping.

And this info on Nintendo taking your old coins away - is this a fact or are you just using hyperbole?

From the Club Nintendo FAQ page:

"Why are my Coins listed with an expiration date?

Unredeemed Coins will expire two (2) full Club Nintendo years (July 1 - June 30), plus whatever is left in the current Club Nintendo year, after they are earned. Example: Coins earned in March 2009 would not expire until June 30, 2011."

Well dang! Glad I got the bags when I did. I had no idea that the coins expired, since they carried coins over to the next year while restarting the trek to gold/platinum membership.

Thanks for the info!
