I dreampt I was at my brother's religious college, and somehow it came out that I was an atheist. This didn't sit well with one guy, not one bit. He didn't see how people could live outside his paradigm, and set to prove his God was real ( Read more... )

Well written and very true. How many wars were started on behalf of imposing one's religion on the other? Countless. Religion is a good thing overall, but exactly as you say, the implied universality is the danger.

I have been dying to ask you this. I've been wondered if you read into philosophy and the sorts? Your writings and insights suggest you do, but I couldn't help but ask. I must say you have by far the most interesting journal I've come across yet. Very insightful.

My hope is that my writings have the same effect on others as yours do me,

I'm quite interested in philosophy, but formally, I've a single Philosophy class. The way I analyze philosophy is by seeing how others treat the world. Everyone has a philosophy, belief, or some sort of paradigm. Once I knew that was what I needed to look for, the world spread out before me.

You're an interesting writer, and that's all that one needs to have a profound effect on others.
