Let's see if I can get out of my writing funk.

Hanami
As soon as the sun was up, Yahara was up with it. People were bustling to get the best spots under the best trees with the best blossoms, spreading out vibrant blankets and setting out delicious food and drinks. Finishing touches were made where necessary, decorations put up and adjusted, with lanterns waiting for nightfall. Everyone was excited for the celebrations to begin, whether it was to enjoy the sights of the trees in full bloom, or the food that was prepared, or even the chance to dress up.

"I almost don't want to wear this. I wouldn't want to get it dirty," Natsume said as he closed his kimono, moving carefully, as though he didn't want to add any creases to the mostly bluish-grey fabric. He laughed softly at himself, before he looked over his shoulder. "Kaname? Can you tie it for me?"

"Touko-san must've spent a lot of time on it," Tanuma made his way over to him, smiling gently as he picked up the folded obi from its place on the bed. He ran his thumbs across the dark blue material, then put his arms around Natsume from behind, starting to tie it around his middle. His smile spread a little as he finished, taking a step back to admire his work, as well as Natsume himself. "But you look good in it."

Turning and adjusting his sleeves, Natsume looked up at him and smiled just a bit more. He couldn't help the light blush that spread at the compliment, even when he thought he'd gotten past that with Tanuma. Stepping past him, Natsume paused before leaving the room and lifted a hand to rest on his forearm. "Finish getting ready and check on Kogitsune. I'll make sure Sensei hasn't eaten all the food."

Laughing, Tanuma rested a hand over Natsume's, leaning in to press a kiss against his hair before he moved away. "Give him a punch for me if he ate all the oden. It took me forever to make enough for everyone."

"Oh trust me," Natsume said as he reached the door, looking back at him. "I'll do more than that."

Once he let out another laugh and Natsume left their room for the kitchen, Tanuma returned to finishing with his own clothes, though they were simpler and less detailed than Natsume's. Touko had made Natsume's perfectly, in his opinion, even without the red fish across the bottom. He was pretty sure Natsume told her about the pond back when they first started talking, and the fact she included the fish made him feel warm. He'd have to talk to her when they got to the park. But first, he had to make sure that Kogitsune was ready to leave.

While he could hear shouting from the kitchen, catching bits and pieces about Nyanko eating a good amount of the food, Tanuma headed to the room next to theirs to check on the youkai. His smile turned into a slight grin when he saw the fox trying to tie his obi right, though he didn't say anything for a moment. Kogitsune didn't notice him right off, more focused on his clothes than his surroundings. When he did, he looked embarrassed, though beamed up at the man in his doorway. "Papa! Are we leaving soon?"

"Well," Tanuma began, walking towards the young youkai and kneeling down to his level. He gestured for him to turn, and quickly tied his obi for him once he did. Afterward, he made sure everything else was in order, then offered the spirit boy a hand and a smile. "Now we can. Let's go get mama before he kills Ponta."

"All right!" Kogitsune chimed as he took his hand, though jumped when a crash came from the kitchen.

"Better hurry," Tanuma cringed, pushing himself up with his free hand so he could lead the way to the newly established battleground. Carefully, he placed himself in the doorway with Kogitsune peeking around him, trying to keep far away from the dispute. They both watched Natsume send Nyanko flying into the genkan, and only by sheer force did Tanuma refrain from laughing at the thud that resulted. "How much did he get, Takashi?"

With a huff, Natsume began getting the food together, making sure nothing spilled or ended up crushed as he stacked things in boxes. "Almost half of the dango, but Taki said she would make more just in case he decided to go for them, so I think we're covered." He shot a glare towards the other doorway anyways, knowing Nyanko was probably nursing a sore head. After he finished with the food, he turned and smiled at them both, leaning down and holding out his hands for Kogitsune.

The youkai quickly came out of hiding from behind Tanuma, laughing as he collided with Natsume's chest. Kogitsune squeaked, then laughed again, when he was picked up, wrapping his arms around Natsume's neck and his legs around his middle. "Papa says we can go now. Sensei didn't eat all the food, did he?"

"If he did," Natsume started with a deadpan, putting his arms underneath Kogitsune. Tanuma covered his mouth with a hand to keep from laughing again. "We would be having him in place of all the food he ate. He'd already be flavored and everything."

Unable to keep back his smile at Kogitsune's laughter, Natsume bumped his forehead against his before he set him down carefully. Tanuma moved over to them, resting his hand on the fox's head between his ears before he picked up a box. "We best get going, before we're late. Ponta's caused enough trouble, but I'm not going to let him make us late."

Letting out a sound of agreement, Natsume looked down at Kogitsune, tipping his head in the direction Nyanko had flown in. "Go get the troublemaker and the wagon, then we can go see everybody else."
