The amendment further states that no legal status, such as a civil union, may be devised by state or local government that would carry the weight of marriage or confer any benefits or obligations of marriage on unmarried individuals.

thats the part that will likely kill it and that most people are speaking out against. Its bad business sense since many companies already allow benefits for gay couples and this law would prevent them from doing that here so the company will likely not do business in ohio.....in addition, the supreme court has already stated that you can't discriminate against unmarried people which is something i think they miss on this one.....
