I find it truly fascinating how the "furry look" seems almost archetypal. :)

They basically look like ordinary computer nerds only with dubious accessories such as bondage collars and tails.

So NZ has its own furry con now? I wonder how it matches up to Midfur (which is almost as far away for me as NZ anyway). And I wanna see Meow throwing up devil horns too! (Whatever that means.)

Well, "Furconz" is annual, and has been running for several years in
November/December after university exams. Last year's was also in Taupo
(Foy's). In 2004 it was at our place in Hamilton, 2003 was Dunedin
(Aeothan/Whitelock), 2002 was Auckland (Puppydog).

There have also been other get-togethers or housemeets at Puppydog's,
Sefton's, Lex's and our place, sometimes at Easter to increase the number
of events each year.

There are also often strong furry contingents at Armageddon, and at the
annual NZ Science Fiction/Fantasy convention.
