[ooc] Something I'd like to draw attention to...
I seem to be doing quite a few OOC posts, so forgive me for it! I suppose I could do this as Japan (as it would pertain to him rather well) but I'd like this to be a serious reminder.

Russiaing aside, I do agree! I've used all my icons from the manga itself... though not everyone can do this since theres not enough of all the characters, but I also do it because I don't know who made what and where it came from when using fanmade icons... ...if that makes sense? Either way I didn't know about that site so that should be helpful! <3

Oh, yes, but there are reasonable alternatives! There are a lot of fanartists in the hetalia fandom here on LJ, and asking them for permission to make icons doesn't require the breach of a language barrier, and you could even ask them to draw a certain thing for you if they're willing to.
I'm not asking people to remove their icons -- i'm well aware of the shortage of official art for characters like Iceland that have barely shown up, or only shown up once. It's also easier sometimes to take artwork that fits your requirements instead of source it in this fandom, but it's just a reminder to keep the artist in mind when looking for something.
I think the main hetalia community will be posting a template letter or something soon, so i'll look forward to that~

and ahah, yeah, I find it nerve-wracking too, but I don't know why people don't find it as nerve-wracking to just take it. I guess it's easier but... don't they feel guilty at all? :'/ mmh. Sometimes I mistaken fanart for official art, so don't worry. ^^' I've fixed things but... yeah. I feel horrible after realizing.
