Cooks... anonymous May 20 2013, 16:56:05 UTC
I'd beg to differ that we don't have a lot of cooks in Cynnabar. We do...we have MANY, in fact -- we just don't have a lot that want to run and organize lunch or dinner taverns..or for that matter a large feast. Whole different skill set than cooking!

Retirement plan when done being Baroness...it's on the to do list.

(upper post is from our Baroness)

As I mentioned to Gregoire on FB, good to know! The context for the comment was that I was comparing with what I heard the situation is in Ayreton. Apparently there people fight over chances to lead lunch taverns and feasts, and every Ayreton event I've been to has had two lunch taverns to choose from and a feast. :P

That said, if someone wants to point me in the direction of Cynnabar's cooks... :P

Taverns were great! ext_346225 May 20 2013, 18:10:58 UTC
I really enjoyed the taverns, and I really appreciated the schedule break for the meals, especially the long dinner break. It gave me a chance to socialize with everyone who I had been in classes with all day.

Oh and I wouldn't worry about the name "Tavern" - it made total sense to me, and we have found in Ayreton that selling lunch tickets at Gate is really the sanest way to go. If necessary you can improvise a la carte if you want to offer it, but having all money go through Gate is about 1 million times better than having a cash box in the food line. For us we've articulated the main difference is that a tavern is when you go through a "cafeteria" line, vs. a dinner or feast when you are served. I thought it was great.

I loved the dinner - had seconds of both the meat pie and the dessert! Arin did a fantastic job.

Can't personally comment on the lunch, as I went out. I heard the bread was amazingly delicious! I also heard the no meat complaint.
