I had a chicken once that went broody all the time. And she insisted on sitting on the eggs in the ONE nest box they all preferred despite having other boxes to use. She'd growl at them anytime they came near, but they were so determined to lay in that one next box I actually saw a hen crawl *under* the broody hen and lay her egg. So funny. I miss having chicken entertainment.

So exciting to think you might have chicks! Pretty chickies!

I like to think that other chicken is dumb enough that she thinks she's the baby daddy, so she's manning up to her responsibilities as a father.
