Leaving history was not a hard decision to make, nor was leaving acadamia in general. The truth is, I was pursuing my lofty goals (Phd) for all the wrong reasons. In short, I wanted the prestiege, noteriety, and perhaps most importantly, to beat out my two cousins in Milwaukee, one of which has her Masters and the other one is pursuing hers. A

Good for you, Mark. It really seems to be a good choice for you, and if you're happy with it, thats even better.

Have you thought about where you want to teach English? Will you be staying state-side, but teaching to exchange students, or do you want to go abroad and teach?
