I'm heading back up to school in a mere two days (this Sunday). This is the first real modeling I've done in about 2 years. I dare say I'm back in the saddle, albiet this new one is much nicer and I'm still trying to figure out all the parts. 3DS Max is a hell of a program, but I'm adapting. Yesterday and this morning I made a Pawn, Bishop and Rook. No small task, but I pressed on and did it. Tonight, I made a Knight. It was incredible. It's amazing how one little project can completely alter one's view of a program, especially in light of how badly I'd been dissing on it. The problem with learning a new 3D program is that things that were incredibly simple in past programs are now veritable feats of incalcuable mental prowess. On the other hand, what was once impossible is now common and easy to do. Still, I miss being able to join a line in less than two seconds using a "join" coimmand :P ( Read more... )
