It's a sick sad little world

You know what's been bothering me most lately: the fact that when you're smart and strong as a woman, you're the scariest thing in the world to men. Like you're carrying a disease they'd rather not catch.

- My sister got turned down for being to clear about what she wanted. The guy chickened out on a pretty sweet deal because "he got hurt too much" ( Read more... )

I can think of a few things, actually. One is I'm shy and another is I'm too depressed to leave the house. Other than that, I'm a catch. ;-D

Well, to me you definitely are.

I suppose it'll all be okay, I just hate that I can't control this part of my life. Guess it's my too-much-brain-for-my-own-good part. ;D

Your dilemma is one of the ages. It's hard to find a happy medium in relationships. The only reason the ugly & dull girls seem to get everything they want is because they're happy to settle for less. When you're smart and capable, settling is unfair to everyone. I settled, and look where it got me. It's so easy to settle for less than what you deserve.

*sigh* Sometimes I really wish I could.
But I know I can't. It's just said that very few men actually step up to the plate.

One of those days is not fun. I texted you to see if you wanted to eat out but you must have missed it, is there another day in the week that would fit for you? It's been a while, we need to catch up and on some days we need it more ;)

I'm sorry about your sis, but in a way it is better to have the guy chicken out at the last minute than embark in something that's bound to fail and hurt everyone trice harder in the process.

Ah bugger, didn't hear my cell go off. Usually I turn the sound of to avoid calls from interim-offices and the likes, but the buzzing should have reached me.

Maybe tomorrow, if you've got the time? Any other day's fine too.

Hmm the sister will live, I just feel all omfgyoufuckingidiotyouhurtmysister... That too shall pass.
