modern age

i hate those commercials, "campaigns", or just general rhetoric that in order to be a real woman or have a real woman's body you have to be fat or "curvy." by saying stuff like that it excludes every woman/girl that is not. in my opinion women and girls that are thin are real people too, i'm pretty sure they aren't fake women. and being normal weight or underweight does not automatically mean you're anorexic. also, in these ads i always see women that are just straight up overweight. and when did it become okay to put fat people on a pedestal and criticize anorexic people? i think that neither of those things is healthy and i have no business telling people what is healthy or not but maybe instead of fixating on making people feel good we should fixate on making people healthy. maybe all this sounds really blunt and bitchy but i've watched eating disorders and excess weight mess up my family members so i know the problems on both ends. but nothing is helped by taking one group of people and making them the "real women" i've never had an eating disorder and i've never been overweight but i exist, too.
