The play deals with a lot of moral/ethical issues... should he help the Hollar’s? Very nice entries Nicole! I agree with you supporting Anderson's reasoning behind his political speech. He showed that although we may have moral beliefs initially, a change of character may be important in benifiting the situation of another's such as Hollar's. In his attempt to improve society through his speech to fellow philosophers, he was probably expressing his beliefs to the wrong group. As outsiders in a foreign country, their belief systems are innafective, therefore the best thing for the officials in that country to do is either kick them out or arrest them. Unfortunatly, Anderson's aid for the Hollar family did not go through due to the fact that if he had gotten it over the boarder, THEN would it have truly made an effect for their society and individual rights in of Czech Republic.
