I'm sorry you feel so suffocated at home cos of your parents D: All I can give in terms of advice is, give them proof that they can trust you. Whenever you go out, let them know the details (i.e. who you'll be with etc) in advance so they can see that you're responsible. I've gradually earned my mum's trust that way, and she's a lot more lenient with me now. Just don't give them a reason not to trust you, and eventually, they'll see that you're grown up and can take care of yourself! It helps if you're honest too >.>
Anyway. I wouldn't expect your parents to become less overprotective overnight, but it'll be worth it when the time comes :)

Agreeing with Jinny, my parents were vaguely draconian about me going out, but they are more lenient now. I'm sure your parents will be more lenient with you in time...but yeah, does suck.

Enjoy the extended weekend though! At least we have time to get some coursework done.

well my advice if you want to get up into London (worked with me)- get your parents to talk to a friend's (of theirs) mum who has let their kids go to London and mention about how you'll be doing work experience there next year and need to know your way about. And for the next month or so, give really detailed descriptions of where you're going and what you're doing and actually do it- be back on time etc. If you show them you can be trusted- they'll be more likely to trust you- i.e. no shouting arguments. I find if you talk to them like they are people and give them a chance to voice their opinions, they'll be more likely to take yours into account. Otherwise i don'ty know what you should do
