There's part in Hakkou book on Shouka and the triplets conversation (didn't see it in eps38 of the anime tho), and I assumed that there is a mention about this in gaiden 3 (not sure, I haven't actually read it... seriously have to find time to read ^^;; ) CMIIW, Shouka was sent to the Rans when he was young (for certain reasons). He then was made tutor for the triplets, and the three of them were very fond of them, to the extent that they didn't want him to return to the Kous and to make him their elder brother. The rest of this is purely my imagination, but I think Reishin knew about this and very jealous? thus the bad relationship..
