Вспомнилась старая Стесинская история - когда они приехали в Америку, его папа, через какое-то время, получил позицию лектора в университете Northwestern в Чикаго. Жили они в каком-то не белом районе, и Стесин пошёл в пролетарскую школу, где он был чуть ли ни единственным белым ребёнком

As we are all forced to think about the race and ethnicity and freedom of religion and many other things that we have started to take for granted, I think it's important to understand how we are perceived from the outside. And no, we are not white, and we don't even fully comprehend the finesse of racial complexity in this country. And we all stand out with our awkward accents and attitudes.
