I know someone on metformin (to help with their bloodsugar because of their PCOS) and I know they said they feel soo much better now that they take it (and got used to taking it, silly adjustment times).
Lifestyle changes suck, and I wished we lived closer so I could giggle with you and we could take up kickboxing (hii-yah! we'd kick away so much ass and frustration) with your new gym membership. <3 <3 <3
Ugh, what a pain in the butski to deal with all that! But, you're stong and I know that you will get yourself through it! Gym eh? Might I ask where there is a gym close to you??
I don't know if you have a "Something Sweet" near you, but other candy stores might have this, or be willing to order it for you. There's a 98% dark chocolate sweetened with stevia. It's made by the same CA guy that makes the egg shaped truffles that cost like $3 each. Stevia (also cinnamon) helps keep blood sugar down, and unlike artificial sweeteners, which still raise blood sugar, it can actually bring it down for some people. Anyway, it does taste like dark chocolate, but not 98%, since stevia is so much sweeter than sugar that 2% makes for a sweet flavor. It's delish. And co-ops will have stevia. Hold out for the drops (the flavors are fun, but any citrus ones will be rather strong) or the Nu-stevia powder, as other brands of powders are bitter even for a seasoned stevia user like me. Nu-stevia comes in 100 packet boxes for $10 and is awesome for tea and coffee. My husband says the chocolate is a little bitter, but it is 98% for petes sake. Duh. (And maybe no one told him about my preffered brands. LOL
