Walker?

[A rather stiff looking man appears on the video feed, handling the little device fairly easily for new arrival. There's a heavy frown on his face and one hand is rubbing almost anxiously at his neck. His clothing (what can be seen of it, anyway) is a bit dated, but overall he seems very well put together. Very neat.]

Supervisor? [He squares his shoulders and drops his hand to his side.] Status, please.

Understandably.

[He waves the blanket off again, staring at Allen for several moments.]

Have you been eating?

[Allows his smile to turn politely puzzled, as if he's wondering why you would even bring up such a thing.]

Of course. Can you imagine me not eating?

[Oh, Allen, if only you knew. This Link has almost two extra years of stalking experience. Even the slightest difference is going to stand out in neon for him.]

Have you been eating properly?

[...Darn. He doesn't know there's another Allen somewhere in the universe. Yet. Here's Allen smiling very amicably as he lies through his teeth.]

Mostly.

[... Yet. And Link's not volunteering that sort of information unless he has to.]

Lies are unbecoming, Walker. Especially such obvious ones.

[That's just as well, there's enough happening as it is. The outright accusation earns Link the rise of a snowy eyebrow, followed by a sheepish grin.]

I don't remember you being half as good as this, Link. Alright, I'll admit the food situation leaves... something to be desired, but I'm holding up fine. No do us both a favour and stop dripping all over my floor.

[Thrusts the blanket at him again.]

[No need to break more brains than he has to. He knows from experience how much it sucks.]

I don't need to be "good" to see that you've lost weight.

With that admission, Link finally takes the blanket from Allen. Time to lose that uniform jacket so he can attempt to mop himself up a little.]

...Really. I was rather hoping the coat would help. Perhaps I should've worn the hood as well.

[Keeps his tone light, but Link's two extra years of stalking practice should be enough to let him tell Allen's worried. Not about himself, predictably, but about how much this will affect his ability to fight and protect everyone else. He starts rummaging around the room while Link dries himself, eventually returning with his Exorcist's cape from the Jordan mission.]

Here, you can put this on when you're done; it's not much but it's better than nothing. We can take turns wearing my coat too.

[Link gives Allen a stiff 'thank you' as he takes the cape. Sitting in his wet clothes until they dry is going to suck, but he's dealt with worse in the past.]

You have no means of starting a fire at all? [Somebody looks like he's mulling over an idea.]

That's not exactly it. I'm sure I can manage something if I really tried, it just doesn't seem like a very sound idea.

[shoots a mournful look at the weather outside]

...Although it looks like the pros are going to outweigh the cons soon.

[Link stares out the window for a moment as well. He's had quite a lot of experience when it comes to making due in less than ideal situations.]

Do you have an extra bucket? Or some other metal container?

[Heads over to his rows of containers and picks up an empty bucket, recently drained.]

Yes, but the weather's made it hard to find firewood that isn't soaked, and I've been reluctant to burn paper because of the fumes. [Turns to nod at his windows, all shut tight against the cold] Ventilation isn't great either.

What about the other rooms in this building? Broken or unused furniture could be used until a decent supply of dried wood is gathered.

[Link paces the room a bit, glancing about to take in what supplies they have to work with. Do you see the gears turning, Allen? The brains have arrived~] A cracked window should be enough to vent the smoke from a small fire. Keep a bucket of soil nearby in case of an emergency... [Mumblemumble.Did you know Link could mumble?]

That could work, several of them are unlived in at the moment. Last I checked, there's a damaged room next to mine with a fair bit of broken furniture, I don't think anyone would mind us putting it to good use...

[Trails off and cocks his head as the Inspector starts mumbling. The methodical analysis of their situation doesn't surprise him in the least, he's always held a measure of respect for the other's intelligence, but he can't recall Link ever doing something as casual as thinking aloud. Hm.

Here's Allen hopping onto Link's train of thought, voice mild and unobtrusive.] A bucket of snow should work just as well, correct? Easier to come by.

[He nods and drapes the borrowed cape over the nearest piece of furniture, grabbing up his jacket to rummage though some of the inside pockets. After a few moments he pulls out a small wrapped package and sets it off to one side before going back to his search.]

Eat that. It tastes like sawdust, but it's good for you.
