Why does it always happen like this?

I have another job fixing a computer for a friend of a friend. It's a Dell Dimension E310, which the owner claims "won't even boot up." He included a stack of CD-ROMs, trying to be helpful. lol useless cd roms. I am glad that when my dad told his computer was 'broken' yesterday, he really meant that he didn't know how to save documents from emails. Yaaay.

Gee... It's a shame you don't know someone who used to run his own computer business and has a whole stack of Dell issued CDs with operating systems and drivers...
