I saw this and totally wanted to but then I thought - is that a thing? Do people do that here? Then I saw someone else do it so yay, here I go!
1. What's the first fandom you remember actively participating in? (That includes fanfiction, fanboards, conventions, contests, buying items, memorizing episodes, anything you think could count.)

>>Then Donna - well hello Donna - we like you! Feisty redhead. But wait, why are they making it seem like you're the girl with the 'great personality' when it's obvious the two actors have tremendous chemistry. No it's not the older man of the world teaching the young ingenue the ropes. It's TWO GROWN UPS. Maybe the show runners didn't think the audience could handle two grown ups having a grown up relationship. *shrug* I think I just went on a rant. Moving on to the next question.

Oh YES so much this.
Just had to google Gracepoint, I didn't know that was the name for the Broadchurch remake, I loved that SO much. And I love Anna Gunn. It's going to be so interesting to see if a remake works.

But yeah I do believe that has to be the main reason Rex was not picked up. From House to Lie to Me to now Robert Carlyle on Once Upon a Time, there are plenty of successful US TV shows pivoting around a strong british lead, speaking in his natural accent. (Oh no wait, Hugh Laurie in House has an American accent, but it's beautiful) I SOOOOOO hoped DT would keep his UK accent (ANY of them, his brogue to his received pronunciation, all lovely!) and not do the nasally thing again.

I'm used to hearing a little twang (sorta like a Texas twang) when Brits do American - Kate Winslet and Andrew Lincoln (Walking Dead) come to mind and then the utter perfection of Hugh Laurie's Gregory House and Idris Elba's "Stringer" on The Wire. I completely forgot who he (Laurie) was and then he won an award for House and spoke in his native accent and even joked that a good number of Americans were currently shocked hearing him, lol. I was one of them and then I remembered.
You're right, there are so many shows where some of the characters keep their UK accents and nobody bats an eye. No idea why they'd be forcing the American accent on DT. You know they actually could've even kept Alec Hardy - have him come and consult based on similar crime in the UK, know what I mean? I just don't get it.
