Just a talk, Hakkai had said, and Gojyo knew what that meant. It meant bloodthirsty smiles and ice-cold words and possibly - probably - even a thrown punch or two. He'd made Kanan cry, after all. It wasn't like he didn't deserve it.

And for some reason, he didn't think I'm sorry would make this all go away

That... was unexpected.

"I know." Tapping out a cigarette, he watched Hakkai through the tiny flame. As glad as he was that Hakkai hadn't started off with that I will pull your entrails out your nose smile... if this was more of Hakkai's self-loathing bullshit, maybe he'd be the one throwing punches.

"Still shouldn't have opened my mouth."

Hakkai wasn't going to argue the point, even if it did mean that he ended up sounding 'like a bastard' as Sanzo would say. Well, he was one, after all. The name was entirely appropriate for everyone in their group. Except perhaps Goku, if you viewed Sanzo's role in his life as paternal.

And maybe Hakkai is still a little angry... but he's not going to pull your entrails out of your nose, or anything like that.
