That is hands-down the most romantic movie I've ever seen. That's what everybody loves about it... b/c there's so much love between the main characters.
but why is it romantic? yes the characters love each other, but they do in every movie. how is this better? how do they show that there is so much love between the main characters? becasue he stays with her even when she cant remember him? guess what it's been done before. because their love over comes the odds and she remembers him in he end? wow thats new because in no movie before has any love over came the odds, not. because they die together on the same bed in the end? thats a new one as well in movie history. she didnt even love hii as much as he loved her. she got engaged to another man and she forgot who he was. romantic my butt. come up with something new to be romantic. like i said this should have went straight to a lifetime or hallmark tv movie.
He kept his promises. He continued to love her just as passionately, even when he didn't see her or hear from her in years. Allie never forgot who he was, or she wouldn't have gone back to be with him. She got engaged to another man b/c she didn't know how much Noah really loved her.
I think the reason so many people love it is b/c it's a love that could potentially happen to anyone. I haven't found a woman who says she doesn't want to spend her life with a man like Noah, even though fewer & fewer like him seem to exist. We love it because it gives us hope that someday, somewhere, we'll all find our Noah. For guys, I suppose it gives them hope that they'll find an Allie to inspire them to such great love.
oh crap! a guy in a love story keeps his promise to the girl he loves? wow thats original. no it is not. that happens in every love movie or novel. this movie was not original in any way. look i guess it is sweet but it is not better than a stupid tv movie. it does not desirve the hype that it got.
