It's not that I don't think others have talked about this or know about this. I don't. I know very well how much the media has talked about swine flu and how much attention has been paid to it. However, I thought I'd go ahead and put by two cents forward.

Right now I'm alternating between sticking my fingers between my ears and singing La, La, La, and being worried that the zombie invasion is imminent.

A whole bunch of schools in the next county over have closed for a few weeks because they think a few of the kids might have the flu. I can't tell if it's a good precaution or them being totally hysterical. I also feel really bad for the working parents who now have to scramble for unexpected childcare.

I keep having to make decisions like: should I take Erik to t-ball, the park, the library, McDonalds or whatever. I'm not really sure what I should do, so I just end up washing my hands a lot and try to keep life as normal as possible.

Fortunately, it looks like the flu's even less dangerous than I was assuming it might be. While another death has occured in the US by an otherwise weakened woman they now believe that a great many of the deaths in Mexico weren't caused by swine flu (though they still might have had the disease) but rather complications or secondary infections.

Once again, stay cautious but, it looks like this might be far less worse than it seemed initially.

I can't and won't blame you for being anxious though.
