A note on Pepper - I don't know if she was called Pepper Potts in her first appearance or not, but her real name is Virginia. In the novelization, she earned the nickname "Pepper" because she threatened to pepper spray some security people. Also, I believe she was created by Stan Lee, who is notorious for alliterative names. Supposedly it's so that he can remember them, but early comics do exist with "Peter Palmer" and "Bob Banner". You probably already know that, but hey.
