My Heart Draws a Dream - L’arc en ciel
I love this song, I can’t get enough of it! Hyde’s voice gives me chills, I don’t know how he’s hitting those notes but they’re CRAZY. This is one of those songs that transport me to another place, which is one of the reasons I listen to music at all, for that transcendent feeling.
Flavor of Life - Utada Hikaru
This is off of her new album, Heart Station, and for me it’s Utada Hikaru at her best. Her voice is just amazing.
Umbrella - Rihanna
Now, I was annoyed as all get out by this song for the LONGEST time, and in some ways it still bugs me. But, then I heard Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance sing part of it, and I paid attention to the lyrics for the first time. Somehow, it became kind of a haunting song for me. It’s telling the story of this love shared by these two people who seem as though life hasn’t treated them kindly, but who manage to find a small amount of comfort in the fact that they at least have each other. Now I can’t get the blasted song out of my head, but that’s alright I suppose.
Step and Go - Arashi
This song came out while I was in Hokkaido, end I ended up listening to it a lot during my trip. Now it’s my ringtone, hahaha. I like listening to it because it makes me feel like getting up and doing something, plus it’s catchy without getting really annoying. Also, the dance is really cool, so I’ve linked one of the live performances.
Wahhahha - Kanjani8
This song is EVIL, it just burrows into your brain and refuses to leave! But I got to inflict it on other people, which makes it alright. Plus, I always feel cheery after hearing it.
Weeek - NewS
This song falls under the same category as “Wahhahaa” in that it’s horribly catchy and cheerful. Also, Yamapi going “Ikimaaa~su, yay!” is burned into my brain forever, srsly.
Crazy Rainbow - Tackey and Tsubasa
Have I mentioned that I’ve been listening to a lot of catchy music lately? It’s the fault of these Johnny’s bands; they all probably have subliminal messages embedded in them that force me to re-listen to all their bands’ songs. It’s a sickness, I tell you.
