So, I've been watching the show Glee, which I find to be a fun weekly escape for my brain. And while I try to take most of the show with a grain of salt, this week's episode really irritated me. I don't think I'll be able to express it quite as well as sistermagpie did, so I'm going to link to her review here:

While I don't know Glee and haven't watched it (most of my exposure has come from the song clips you link me to, lol), this episode sounds like it would have rubbed me the wrong way too. Speaking as someone who had kind of a tough adolescence and was also very openly agnostic, I was a massive target for well-meaning religious friends who thought the surefire way to end my pain would be to get me to believe. And see, the thing is, I did try! They seemed happy, everyone else seemed to believe in God and it worked for them, and obviously I was missing something, right

Yeah, I've had similar experiences in my life, along with not so well meaning Christians who have spat vitriol at me for my lack of belief
