"We only speak English..."? Do you have a roommate or a frog in your pocket? ;-P

With adverbs, change to the feminine gender first: "solamente".

what I have is a VERY strong interest in not advertising to strangers that I'm a single female living alone.

Hence the hablamos.

And besides that, I do have a cat here (see the icon?). He understands some english (such as "no" and "food"). I haven't tried spanish with him, but I'd rather not anyway.
