So I called the main 800 number for verizon service, swam through the prompts until I got to the one regarding DSL (which forwarded me to another 800 number), then waded through the prompts to "sales", at which point I had to confirm again the number I was calling from as being the number where I wanted service, and blah blah blah... then got a
