Keep in mind that the Lake Michigan ferries charge both for you AND your car. They're really quite a rip-off honestly :/

that is true..
but..
it's a ferry!!
one can play 'merchant marine dude circa 1940'
or hook up with a hawt ferry babe..
well.. ok.. maybe the second isn't very likely..

however, one can stand someplace facing the front and yell..
"I'm flying Jack!!! I'm flying!"

google maps.. pwnt!!!
it does not have a 'running' option..

however.. as I am too lazy to walk for 2 weeks straight, I doubt that I will be very inclined to run for 2 weeks..

ooooo.. walking could also be named 'Rick-shaw'!
though.. at that point it would no longer be free as the walking option is :-/

sailing on a Man of War.
Horseback
Zipline
Dragon Steed
TIE Fighter
Warp 5
etc.

Sometimes our minds scare the shit out of me. Just as I was approaching the end of your post I wondered what would be the details of dirigible travel....

then... whoa!
