Okay, so I have a feeling this post may end up in a lot of wank, but here goes any way:

Coming this winter Disney is releasing their new 2-D animated feature The Princess and the Frog. This will be their first 2-D feature movie since (the really quite horrible) Home on the Range in 2004. The thing that sets this movie apart from the rest is that the ( Read more... )

I honestly don't think anything they do will make people happy. People are just going to find more excuses to try and feel offended by this movie.

I'm so lost when it comes to people bitching about the Prince being white. Is racial segregation in romance so important?

Apparently to some people, yes. I don't see why any one should care. Honestly, it's truly beyond me.

I ignore it. Disney's making a new animated film. I really could care less about what people think the symbolism is. I was miffed when they changed her name to Tiana, because it is NOT. PERIOD. But after that I just started getting excited about ANIMATED CLASSIC OMG.

I don't listen to what people have to whinge about re Disney anymore. I know better than that. People who bitch at Disney have serious issues they need to work out, that's my honest opinion.

Yeah, see I thought the same thing. Maddy fits. It's set in New Orleans during the 1920's. Tiana, not so much.

Oh, fucking hell. This is up there with the "Pixar is sexist" shit and the, "white people can't tell other white people not to be racist shit".

I'm reminded of something I heard once, "Calling everything racist takes away from actual racism." Like, when African-Americans said that Bill Cosby was racist because he told the African-American community to quit acting like uneducated dickbags and take care of their kids [paraphrase, obviously]. And people were mad because Bill Cosby, BILL FUCKING COSBY was being "racist". By telling people to GO TO SCHOOL and act like GODDAMNED ADULTS. HOW DARE HE.

I'm gonna go bang my head against a wall.

People are all about the "perceived" racism. God damn, every thing seems to be racist now a days. I think Russell Peters has awesome views on this.

The video quality isn't very good, but still - so damn funny.
