ONE DAY CONTENT STRIKE
For one day, Friday, March 21, make no posts. Make no comments. Let there be NO new content added to LJ.

I've actually just set up my IJ account properly. 100 userpics for free!!

I think they've made a business mistake getting rid of the basic accounts as well as just pissing me off. I think this may kill some of the communities on LJ so I think I'll be off eventually.

Heh. I think the thing that amuses me most is that (as far as I can see) there is no reason for daily posting stats to be done based on GMT, so it's more likely to cause a small dip across two days than any kind of spike.

Also, one day? Are people really so addicted to Livejournal that they can only manage to be away from it for a single day? Somehow I don't think the people in charge are going to be scared if that's really all people can manage. In fact, I'd imagine they're more likely to just think "well if that's all they can do, clearly we can get away with anything".

Not that I'm a cynical person or anything.

This was brought up in the original post. I don't know why they haven't extended it to more than one day.

I doubt it's going to make much of a difference either to be honest, though I do kind of like the idea of the basic account users standing up to the might of LJ!

I guess I'm just showing my support for the idea, and that I think LJ are making a mistake.
